Early Childhood Education M.Ed.

The Master of Early Childhood Education program at Georgia College will prepare you in the knowledge, capabilities and dispositions required for effective, exemplary teachers of young children.

  • The program is recognized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children
  • The program is also designed to support in-service teachers during their years of induction and to assist them in increasing their level of certification from a T-4 to T-5 while obtaining one of the optional credentials to move from the professional level certificate to the advanced professional.
  • Admission requirements include:
    • graduate admissions application form
    • Two professional recommendations (pdf)
    • official copies of all transcripts
    • passing score on the College of Education Graduate Writing Assessment or waiver as follows
      • graduate of Georgia College
      • GRE – 1000 (Verbal and Quantitative combined) if taken prior to August 1, 2011, or 305 (Verbal and Quantitative Combined) if taken on or after August 1, 2011
      • MAT – 400
      • students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at Georgia College upon conferment of their baccalaureate degree
    • verification of immunization
    • verification of Georgia T4 certification or evidence of qualification for one (or a minimum of an induction certificate)
  •  The Master of Education in Early Childhood Education program is a cohort model with candidates beginning in the summer with the first courses offered during Maymester.
